A1 Nonpalpable, less than 5% of resected TUR with cancer , T1a

A2 Nonpalpable, greater than 5% resected TUR with cancer,  T1b

B1 Palpable, half of l lobe or less, T2a

B1 Palpable, greater than half of 1 lobe, T2b

B2 Palpable, involves both lobes, T2c

C1 Extends out one side of capsule, T3a

C2 Extends out both sides of capsule, T3b

C2 Tumor invades seminal vesicles, T3c

D1 Tumor in regional lymph nodes, T4a

D2 Tumor in distant lymph nodes, bones, organs, T4b

D3 Cancer that has recurred after endocrine therapy, T4c

To each of the TNM stages above may be added an N,M, or G. The N is for

lymph nodes. NX means that the lymph nodes cannot be assessed. N0 means the

lymph nodes are not involved.  N1 is a single lymph node, 2 cm or less.  N2 means metastasis in

a single lymph node greater than 2 cm or multiple lymph nodes with sum greater

than 2 cm.  N3 indicates lymph with greater than 5 cm metastasis.

M is for metastasis. MX means that distant metastasis cannot be assessed. MO

means no distant metastasis, M1a is nonregional lymph nodes, M1b is bone

metastasis, M1c is other sites.
