Clinical Trials
Clinical Trials are conducted in four separate phases aimed at discovering certain types of information about the treatment in question.
Phase I - Safe dosage and side effects are determined. Only people with advanced cancer not likel to be helped by standard treatements are eligible.
Phase II - The effectiveness of the treatment is determined.
Phase III - The new treatment is compared with the currently used treatment(s).
